Odette Outstanding Scholar receives special recognition at Convocation

Graduating with Great Distinction, Honours Business Administration and Computer Science graduand, Tommaso Iacobelli, was the recipient of the Board of Governors Medal and the Governor General’s Silver Medal during the University of Windsor’s 109th Convocation ceremonies in the St. Denis Centre.

Iacobelli, an Outstanding Scholar, won three Undergraduate Student Research Awards from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.

The Board of Governors Medal for students in-course honours are awarded annually to the undergraduate student in each Faculty with the highest cumulative average of all non-graduating students at the end of the preceding academic year.  

The Governor General's Silver Medal, is awarded to the student who has achieved the highest GPA among his or her graduating cohort.

Outstanding Scholars is an exclusive learning enrichment program. The core of the Outstanding Scholar program is the opportunity to conduct research in partnership with a professor, outside the classroom. Each year, the Outstanding Scholar program admits the top 100 first year Candidates applying for admission to any first-entry program at the University. When you successfully complete six semesters of OS research you are eligible to graduate as an Outstanding Scholar. You will receive a notation on your transcript confirming your Outstanding Scholar status.
